The RZ SOM belongs to Neona Embedded Labz’s System on Module (SOM) family. It represents the continuous development Neona Embedded Labz. Like its mini-, micro-, and nano MODUL predecessors, the ROOK - SOM - V1 boards integrate all core elements of a microcontroller system on a sub miniature board and are designed in a manner that ensures their easy expansion and embedding in peripheral hardware developments.

RZ SOM is a sub-miniature (60 x 60 mm) insert-ready SOM populated with Renesas Electronics RZ/A1H, ARM single-core Cortex-A9 MP Core. Its universal design enables its insertion into a wide range of embedded applications. All processor signals and ports extend from the processor to high-density pitch (0.8mm) connectors aligning two sides of the board. This allows the SOM to be plugged like a "big chip" into a target application.
